Miles & Mercy — No. 02 You Belong to Me
I am with you. And you belong to Me.
I didn't sit down to write a poem.
I was somewhere between tired and still — the kind of still that only comes after a long stretch of road — and these lines just came out. Not performed. Not planned. Just what was true in that moment about what I've come to understand, slowly, over a lot of miles.
That God doesn't show up loudly in my life.
He shows up constantly.
There's a difference.
I've been learning to notice the second kind.
This poem is what that looks like.
God said, I need you to be here. So I was.
He said, I need you to be there. So I was.
He said, see Me in this flower. So I did.
See Me in this tree. So I did.
He said, I am with you even when you don't notice. I am with you even when you don't hear Me. I have been here with you in every moment, in every breath.
I am with you. And you belong to Me.
